Overview
Adding your insurance companies in Acubliss simplifies the billing process and helps you maintain accurate records. This guide covers how to add insurance companies using the pre-existing database or manually, how to manage payer IDs, and set up insurance profiles for patients.
Adding Insurance Companies
Access Insurance Companies Page:
In the Settings menu, navigate to Insurance Companies. Click the Add Insurance Company button to start.
Search for Insurance Providers:
Type the name or payer ID of the insurance company (e.g., "Blue Cross"). Our database will auto-populate the details, so select the right company and click Use Insurance Company.
Add Missing Insurance Companies Manually:
If a provider isn't listed, fill out the information manually by clicking Add Insurance Company and completing the form.
Confirm Provider Details:
Once added, review details like the address. For addresses, input the zip code, and Acubliss will autofill the city and state.
Using Insurance Profiles in Patient Charts
Navigate to Patient's Insurance Page:
Open the patient's chart and go to the Insurance section. Here, you’ll see all assigned insurance companies.
Select an Insurance Company:
Choose from your pre-added list, enter the patient’s specific details (e.g., insurance ID), and adjust settings like copays, deductibles, or authorizations.
Manage Insurance Status:
You can set the insurance status to Verified or Unverified and designate primary, secondary, etc., for patients with multiple insurances.
Upload Insurance Card Information:
Use the patient portal to collect images of the front and back of the insurance card and their ID, streamlining the verification process.
Why Add Insurance Companies in Advance?
Efficiency: Pre-filled insurance companies speed up patient setup and reduce manual data entry for recurring providers.
Accurate Billing: Storing verified provider details ensures claims are submitted accurately and avoids billing errors.
Flexibility: Easily adjust patient insurance profiles, add authorizations, and manage copays and deductibles.
