Prescriptions

Herbs and supplements can be prescribed within intakes, but sometimes you just want want to offer a stand-alone prescription, refill a prescription, re-prescribe or even just take a look at the prescriptions they have been given and you can do that here on the “prescriptions” page of their chart.

All “Current Prescriptions” are shown and “Discontinued Prescriptions” are shown at the bottom. Clicking on the product name will show the intake or Rx from where it was prescribed. If it’s in “tentative” status, you can still “edit” it, and if the intake or Rx is ready, you may “Finalize” it here.

Note that while two fields are mandatory for intakes (biomedical diagnoses and TCM diagnoses), no such fields are required for these “stand-alone” prescriptions to be finalized.

Other valuable information being displayed are date prescribed, the “quantity” prescribed, “dosage” and remaining refills. Based on this information, AcuBliss can tell you when their supply will end, or when it has ended which can be helpful when determining if a patient is still current on their prescriptions.

If it’s tentative, you can “discard” any “notes” that were written in the text box or “delete” the Rx. You can quickly view the “visit” or “invoice” associated with the Rx, print the label, or prescribe the prescription into a new one.

Over time you can mark prescriptions as “discontinued” in order to track how the formula affected them, and some suggested reasons are given if applicable. This can also be accomplished here in the intake right below the “products” section.

Note that products marked as “requiring a prescription,” have to be dispensed through an intake or prescription and cannot be added to a visit by any staff member, unless the prescription has remaining refills.
