Insurance

Patients can add their insurance information into their chart as well through the patient portal and you can remind them to fill this out with a click of a button.

Staff can add various health insurance profiles for their patients by clicking on the appropriate type and selecting the insurance company from the drop-down menu.

Note that the insurance companies must first be added in the settings and there’s a convenient link to go there. The rest is self-explanatory.

The “Notes” box allows staff to communicate with each other and keep records on things such as verification, authorizations, claims status, and more. Notes entered here will record the author and timestamp.

Also, note that you can choose a “default biller” whereby this insurance profile will be automatically selected in the “Primary Payer” box in the visit.

The insurance profile status can be set to either “unverified”, “no Acu benefits”, “incompatible”, or “verified”.

Change the order to make the profile “Primary”, “Secondary”, “Tertiary” if you like and you can also “deactivate” the profile too if it’s unlikely to be used anymore.

Authorizations can be added within each insurance profile so they may be tracked.
