“Check in” flow & purpose of visit

There are many ways to “check in” a patient and this important step serves several purposes.

It helps you track whether or not the patient showed up to an appointment, and it also creates a “visit” so that charges can be applied to the patient.

Checking in patients from the calendar is easy, and you can also check them in from the list of their upcoming appointments on the Demographics page, or any list of appointments.

After you check in a patient, you’ve created a “visit” for them and you can start adding charges to the encounter and even collect payment at the beginning of their visit if you prefer they pay prior to receiving their service.

AcuBliss lets you add charges to visits through a new intake or prescription, and in order to do so, you must link the intake or Rx to the visit. All recent visits are shown at the top and you can also create a new visit for an office as well if you don’t have one open.

Visits are where the charges are manipulated and then show up on “invoices” and “superbills.”
