Maybe you are getting certain products from a local supplier in town and you wish to add your own Vendor. 

Click “Add vendor / manufacturer” button and enter in your Vendor information. Be sure you set your default markup and terms before saving your vendor.

If you are creating your own Vendor, you will also need to create all the manufacturers for the products you purchase from this vendor. 

For example, here we have a vendor named Lhasa OMS and they sell products made by a manufacturer named “KPC.” As you might know, in the US, KPC can only be purchased through various vendors such as Crane Herbs or Lhasa OMS. You cannot buy directly from KPC. Therefore, you will need to add a manufacturer named, “KPC”. Be sure to set the “Vendor Type” to “manufacturer.” 

When you add your product, you will see the newly created manufacturer in the dropdown list.

In most situations, you will see that a Vendor can also be a Manufacturer, as in the case with Evergreens, Mayway, Legendary, Spring Winds, Golden Flower, and so forth.
