Overview
The treatment settings page allows you to customize treatments, configure CPT codes, and manage procedures for your practice. While most settings are preconfigured, you can easily add new treatments, categories, or codes as needed.
Customizing Treatments and CPT Codes
Preconfigured Settings:
Evaluation and management codes, acupuncture, electroacupuncture, manual therapy, and more are already set up.
Example CPT codes:
Manual Therapy: 97140
Acupuncture: 97810 (first unit), 97811 (subsequent units)
Modifying or Adding Codes:
Navigate to Treatment Settings to customize:
Add new treatments or categories.
Bind treatments to CPT codes for billing (e.g., manual therapy to 97140).
Adding Units:
Specify treatment units (e.g., 2 units of 97811 and 1 unit of 97810 = 3 total units).
Configure times or specific quantities as needed.
Adding Procedures and Treatments
Procedure and Super Bill Section:
Preloaded codes include:
E&M codes
Acupuncture codes
Manipulation
Infrared therapy
Add new procedures if necessary by:
Selecting the category.
Adding the fee and any required modifiers.
Binding Procedures to Treatments:
Link treatments to procedures for easy billing.
Example:
Treatment: Acupuncture
Procedure: 1 unit of 97810
Adding Non-Billable Treatments:
For items like MoxaBox:
Create the treatment and add it under a category (e.g., "Other").
Exclude binding it to a procedure if it’s not billable.
Document the treatment in the SOAP note during patient sessions.
Best Practices
Minimal Adjustments Needed: The system is prebuilt for most common scenarios, reducing the need for frequent changes.
Flexibility for Customizations: Add niche treatments, codes, or categories specific to your practice.
Streamlined SOAP Note Integration: Ensure all treatments, including non-billable ones, are easily documented.
