1. We've covered every dollar of AI processing since day one
Since we launched AI Scribe and AI Summaries, we've paid for all of the underlying AI processing ourselves — the transcription and language models that power both tools.
2. Usage has grown, and so has the cost
These tools have become part of how so many of you practice every day. As adoption climbed, we saw a real spike in usage — and that spike brought a matching spike in cost on our end. In a recent month, providers have used the AI Scribe 12,000 times which is super exciting and also crazy expensive.
3. The add-on keeps these tools around for the long run
To keep offering AI Scribe and AI Summaries going forward, we need some help covering that cost. That's what the AI add-on is for — it makes this sustainable.

What This Means for You
You don't need to do anything to keep using AI Scribe and AI Summaries right away.
Free credits, no strings attached: Every provider gets a one-time credit of 30 free AI Scribe transcriptions, and every practice gets 50 free AI Summaries. These credits do not expire.
Use them without activating anything: You can use your credits without turning anything on and without being charged.
Keep going beyond your credits: If you'd like to continue using AI Scribe and AI Summaries after your credits run out, you can activate Unlimited AI for $15/month per provider — about the cost of two or three coffees.
💡 Important: You're never charged automatically. Activating Unlimited AI is entirely your choice, and using your free credits costs nothing.
